Starting my training for 2011. Hoping to just finish in time for a buckle. How fast do I have to run the marathon in order to complete this under 20hrs?
It's hard to tell because the terrain varies so much. Some parts of the race you go through rocks or ladders and you can't really run. I'd say train a lot to run uphill/steps, analyse the elevation map and just go as fast as you can...Ana Penteado10:50am, Wed 07.07.2010
Hi Osbert
It's hard to give a definitive answer, but I would guess about a 4:30 marathon would be the equivalent sub 20 hour race. However it is important that you remember that you are not training for a marathon and not on the roads, so train accordingly. Make sure you are comfortable running for many hours, you eat and drink well, you run at night and that you keep going.
